Translucent Cinema
The Translucent Cinema is an "island of objects" containing a semi-transparent curtain, a screen, a population of 25 readymade stackable chairs, two speakers on tripods and a floor standing microphone. Being placed in a central area of a big hall the Translucent Cinema functions as an invitation for a screening. The screening can take place without chairs for the viewers if loop projections are installed open to the space for a possible circulation. A setting of the chairs is provided for the case that a projection will have a more formal character and a demanding duration. The screen forms in the same time a frame for a lecture performance to happen. The semi-transparent curtain can organize the space in a way that the Translucent Cinema acts in all the open hall or in a part of it.
The Translucent Cinema is proposing the maximum in a scale for gathering in the Empty University.
