Hannes Meyer: Co-op Interieur
Today, a different question concerning the minimizing strategies of architecture can be raised, without needing to address the dichotomy of seeing minimal housing as either an autonomous cell or a heteronomous station within an externally administered infrastructure. Which architectural approach to minimal living actually addresses the minimum needs of a home? And, crucially, which form of minimal housing actually keeps establishing itself in the contemporary world? Does today's domestic culture exhibit the characteristics of a permanent abode, or the properties of a replaceable base-camp as part of a seminomadic existence?
