The Structure of Revenge

The Structure of Revenge is a wooden and white painted corridor-like construction of 1500 x 300 x 140 cm. It was made to organize the extrovert side of a workshop that took place for the first time in Athens during some days of the city's decline in 2016. The corridor was prepared to host the produced material in a three-day workshop gathering international theoreticians and artists (Angela Dimitrakaki, Adam Kaasa, Heike Schuppelius, Yannis Stavrakakis, Olaf Nicolai, Vangelis Vlahos, Paul Preciado, Christos Carras, Yoke-Sum Wong, Aristide Antonas and more). The workshop was held by the Onassis Cultural Center in Diplareios School, in June 2016. It functioned as an intensive laboratory examining the contemporary relevance of revenge addressed to the case of of Athens of that time.

The Structure of Revenge

The corridor was prepared to immediately host, present and re-present the production that was ever prepared in the workshop. The Structure of Revenge, as such material construction, is meant not only as a display device but also as a space where the announced topics condense and facilitate further discussions. Forming elaborated evidence from the discussions and allowing for further investigation into topics, the Structure of Revenge is a crucial platform for the function of the Empty University, in order that people communicate quickly their views and open questions for receiving new interested people on the working tables.
